Things you do on solo road trips when no one is there to offer better judgment

Try driving down an unplowed road somewhere west of Manitouwadge, Ontario to see a waterfall, getting stuck, and never seeing the waterfall.

Never stopping to take a picture of the beautiful alpenglow because a more convenient spot is “just ahead.”
My best picture of the alpenglow...
Heading into the Boundary Waters in late afternoon without a map and a couple inches of “wintry mix” on the way.
Later that night, the sleet did not make for a very enjoyable campfire
Listen to Canadian public radio.

Driving around aimlessly at night (for a few hours nonetheless) looking for a spot to camp before settling on a cheap motel.

Wonder why you are in said cheap motel room aimlessly surfing the web when a glorious sweep of stars and monster orange moon wait outside.

I was too lazy to get a good shot of the moon
Writing a blog post while at the River City Café in White River (home of Winnie the Pooh).
